On my first ever visit to this location I was amazed at what I saw and decided I would return at a later date to make a photographic record of my experience.

I wanted to capture the grandeur of the tall structures surrounding the old Salford Dock basin. I loved the way the buldings were reflected in the water, creating a beautiful symmetry.

After taking a series of daytime images on a sunny day when the water had little movement, I decided I would stay until dusk and nightfall to record these changes of light. The symmetry remains but is enhanced by the many coloured lights of the buildings reflecting in the dark water.
